Medieval Times

This was the best!! The looks on the kids' faces was worth the money we spent. You had to arrive 1 1/2hrs early before the dinner and show. That was ok because there were lots of things to look at and see... a museum of torture (people are sick who come up with torture ideas!), a falconer, weapons gallery, and of course shopping. As soon as it was time, we had to wear our colored crowns, sit in our color part of the arena, and cheer for our yellow knight while booing all the others.

We had to eat with our hands from pewter b/c this is the 11th century. We were served 1/2 chicken, tomato bisque, spare ribs, garlic bread, and a danish by a serf and wench. We were stuffed! While eating, the 2 hour show was going on.

There was a great story line of treachery, kidnapping, and love. The kids only cared about the sword fighting with sparks, jousting with flying wood splinters, and horses doing amazing tricks. Of course our knight died, but the bad green knight did not win. It was amazing!! Aram and I liked it as much as the kids.

There was also a woman who trained the horses. She came out as Lady Catherine to show off her horse's skills. While she was going around, no one was cheering. She looked at our section and she whispered, "Please cheer for the horse." So we all started cheering, whistling, etc. So the next time we came around, She said "Thank you so much." In the beginning they told us the horses love cheering and applause but not banging of the food dishes. So we cheered the beautiful Andalusian on and she performed even better!
