A couple weeks ago, Aram and Alex hiked 5 hrs. with Greg and some friends on Mt. Mansfield. This is the highest point in VT. They loved it and wanted to come back with me. Of course 5 hrs hiking with Luke and Will is not ideal, so we took the toll road up and hiked 1 1/2 miles to the summit from the Ranger station. That was doable with the kids and fun. We almost made it to the summit. The reason we didn't get the whole way was b/c we started too late. The gates were closing and we had to be back to the bottom by 5. Oh well. It was a definite learning experience, but we want to go back next year for sure!!You could see Lake Champlain so clearly. What beautiful views except the foliage was done already.
